Earn and Learn Scheme

  • About Committee /Cell: This scheme supports those students coming from rural areas, economically backward, intelligent but cannot afford higher education. They can earn money by doing technical work (related branch) after college timing as well as they can learn.
  • Vision : The main objective of the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil ‘Earn and Learn Scheme’ is to develop a student as a multifaceted personality with academic excellence and a commitment to an egalitarian society. It inculcates in the student the idea that no work is big or small and develops a work culture with the right aptitude. This is a vision of keeping our youth gainfully employed as well as to contribute from civil society. This is a paradigm shift in the way we see higher education.
  • Objective :

1. To help the poor and needy student to pursue higher education.

2. To inculcate the habit of self discipline student.

3. To cultivate the dignity of labor among the student.

4. To help students to gain experience and confidence of the work.

  • Total Enrolled Students:44 (Girls:38, Boys:06)
  • Policy: 
  • Applications will be invited by the Dean, Students’ Welfare by giving a wide publicity.
  • Students, who are interested to avail the Earn and Learn scheme, should apply to chairman, Students’ Welfare by submitting an application in the prescribed format (Annexure-1).  Students will be selected on the basis of their economic background.
  • The selected students will be assigned work in various Departments/Sections of the college.
  • For doing the assigned work, they will be paid @ Rs. 45/- per hour. Students will be permitted to work for a maximum of 06 hrs. per week, or 24hrs. Per month.
  • Students should work in the assigned Department/Section, whenever they are free from their academic schedule.

Nature of the task to be given to the students:

  1. Departments: Office work like maintenance and updating records, preparing reports etc.
  2. Laboratory work like preparing and updating laboratory manuals, maintenance and upkeep of equipment/ machinery/ instruments;
  3. Library: Helping in cataloguing, re-shelving of the books and journals in shelves, display of books, and binding of books etc.
  4. Offices/ Sections: Helping in preparation of statements, compilation and analysis of data, maintenance of student and faculty data, preparation of reports, maintenance of records etc. Stores: Helping in updating stores inventory, data entry, maintaining registers, etc.
  5. Botanical Garden: Watering trees, cleaning garden.

Board of Student Development – SPPU, Pune provides    funding for this scheme

  •  Various types of works assigned to students :
  •   Library, Office, Botanical Garden, Outdoor College  Campus, College Campus, Science Laboratory etc.
  • Student Remuneration 45 rupees per hour. Minimum 02 hours per day work given to the students.
  •  This scheme is most beneficial for poor economically backward  students from slum and far remote areas.
