According to the Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013, the College Internal Committee (CIC) of the Agasti Arts,Commerce and Dadasaheb Rupwate Science College,Akole is reformed in college. According to this Act, the CIC adheres to the spirit of the VISHAKHA principles preceding this legislation in order to handle workplace sexual harassment issues and achieve gender equality. The CIC investigates sexual harassment complaints (if they are received) and works to raise awareness about the issue. The Act outlines the composition of the committees, the procedure for filing complaints, and the time frame for conducting an investigation into a complaint.
OBJECTIVES
1.To carry with the Supreme Court's direction, as well as UGC directives in terms of developing a policy against sexual harassment in the institution.
2. To develop a system for preventing and resolving sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence in the institution.
3. To ensure that the policy is followed in letter and spirit by properly reporting complaints and following up on them.
4. To create an environment that is free of gender discrimination.
5.To ensure equal access to all college facilities and participation in college activities.
6. To provide a safe physical and social environment that discourages sexual harassment.
7. To foster a social and psychological environment that promotes awareness of sexual harassment in all of its forms.
SEXUAL HARASSMENT DEFINITION
Sexual harassment comprises, for this purpose, undesired sexually determined behavior (whether directly or indirectly) as follows:
1. Physical contact and advances
2. Sexually charged statements
3. Any other unwanted physical, verbal, or nonverbal sexual behavior
