Right to Information (RTI)

The Right to Information (RTI) in India was created through judicial rulings, differentiating it as a Fundamental Right under Article 19(1) (a). After recognising the importance of the right to know over time, this right was established as a full-fledged statute in 2005 under the name "The Right to Information Act, 2005". The RTI Act became a pioneering tool for Indian citizens in promoting, preserving, and defending their right to knowEffective participatory democracy requires transparency and accountability in administration. Information is the oxygen that any citizen requires to function inside the social structure of society and maintain its democratic balance. 

In pursuance of the Right to Information Act 2005, an officer has been designated as Public Information Officer (PIO) and he shall perform the duties and responsibilities as envisaged under the act without fail. Necessary steps for implementation of various provisions including proactive disclosure of certain kind of information. Such information shall be made available to the public as and when asked for. As per the RTI Act, Agasti Arts, Commerce & Dadasaheb Rupwate Science College, Akole has constituted a committee which is responsible for dissemination of the information related with the college proper channel.
