College Development Committee (CDC)

    1. The CDC is constituted as per provisions of Sec 97 of Mumbai Universities Act, 2016. The members hold office for a term of 5 years. Any vacancy being filled as per the provisions of the Act.


      1.The College Development Committee for Agasti Arts,Commerce and Dadasaheb Rupwate Science College,Akole is made up of the following individuals:

      • The chairman of the management or his nominee as Chairman;
      •  The management secretary or his nominee;
      • One department head, to be nominated by the principal;
      • Three teachers at the college, elected by the full-time teachers among themselves, at least one of them must be a woman.
      • One non-teaching employee chosen from among normal non-teaching staff;
      • Four local members, selected by management in conjunction with the Principal, representing education, industry, research, and social service, at least one of whom must be an alumnus;
      • Co-Ordinator of the college's Internal Quality Assurance Committee;
      • College Students' Council President and Secretary;
      • College Principal - Member - Secretary.

      2. At least four times each year, the College Development Committee shall meet.

      3. Elected and nominated members serve for a five-year term beginning on the date of election or nomination.

      4. The College Development Committee shall, as follows:

      • Make a decision on the college's overall instructional programmes or annual calendar.
      • Make recommendations to management for the introduction of new academic courses and the creation of extra teaching and administrative positions.
      • Conduct an evaluation of the college's self-financing courses, if any, and give recommendations for their improvement.
      • Make specific recommendations to management to develop and strengthen the college's research culture, consultancy, and extension efforts.
      • Make specific recommendations to management to encourage academic collaborations in order to improve teaching and research.
      • Make specific recommendations for teaching improvement and appropriate training programmes for college workers.
      • Prepare the college or institution's annual financial forecasts (budget) and financial statements and recommend them to management for approval
      • Develop suggestions for new expenditures not included in the annual financial estimates (budget)
      • Make recommendations about student and employee welfare activities in the college or institution.
      • Discuss the Internal Quality Assurance Committee's reports and make appropriate recommendations.
      • Develop an appropriate admissions method for various programmes in accordance with statutory requirements.
      • Plan important annual events at the college, such as annual day, sporting events, cultural activities, and so on.
      • Create an overall comprehensive college development plan for academic, administrative, and infrastructural expansion, allowing the college to nurture excellence in curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities.
      • Advise the administration on appropriate steps to take.
